Menttium Delivers Pro-Bono Mentoring Program to Northside Achievement Zone (NAZ)

Minneapolis, MN - September 15, 2011 - In an effort to give back to their community, Menttium will bring their leading edge internal corporate mentoring program, Menttor™, to the leaders and staff of the Northside Achievement Zone (NAZ). This dynamic non-profit organization’s mission is to build a culture of achievement in a geographic zone in North Minneapolis to ensure that all youth graduate from high school college-ready.

Mentoring is one of the best ways to grow a successful and strong performance culture. Menttium is very excited to bring this robust mentoring program to the leaders and staff of NAZ beginning November 2, 2011 and, in so doing, help them achieve their mission.  Menttium's Chief Mentoring Officer, Lynn Sontag said, "We are partnering with NAZ in an effort to actively pursue our corporate vision to improve the performance cultures for leaders who have the will and ability to drive change. We believe the leaders and staff of NAZ are community change agents and we look forward to assisting them in reaching their goal to make a significant contribution and difference on Minneapolis' North Side."

Through Menttor™, NAZ hopes to:

  • Provide support to develop employee personal and professional goals while also working to achieve the ambitious goals of the organization
  • Build and strengthen professional networks, including: developing diverse relationships with people outside of one’s own group
  • Support leadership growth
  • Demonstrate NAZ’s commitment to employee development

Menttium supports Catalyst Research, “Engaging Men in Gender Initiatives” (May 2009)

Menttium mentors lent their voices to the Catalyst study, “Engaging Men in Gender Initiatives: What Change Agents Need to Know.” Both Menttium and Catalyst believe men have a critical role to play in diversity and inclusion efforts, especially initiatives to eliminate gender bias. Catalyst is addressing this gap by embarking on a new series of research efforts that offer evidence-based advice about the most effective ways to partner with men in ending gender inequalities at work.
