Nearly 400 people came together on October 13th to celebrate the launch of the Menttium 100® Program
Minneapolis, MN – Ask a corporate executive about his or her most influential mentors and he or she will likely provide a shorty list in a matter of moments. Leaders often rise through the ranks with the help and wisdom of mentors who offer guidance along the way.
For fifteen years, the Menttium 100 Program has partnered high-performing female mentees with top level corporate leaders to provide one-on-one mentoring as a way to give these women a hand-up in corporate America. On October 13, over 250 women, nominated by their companies into the Menttium 100 Program came together at the Minneapolis Convention Center to meet their mentors, high level executives from the largest companies in the Twin Cities.
The day began with opening remarks from Menttium COO, Kimberly Vappie, and continued with nearly 400 attendees listening to Dr. Alex Cirillo, Vice President of the 3M Foundation, speak about his experience as a mentor in the program. Dr. Cirillo's mentee from 2004, Sandy Shuster, spoke about her experience as a mentee in the program. Then the real work began. For several hours, mentees and mentors met in breakout sessions to learn about each other and the best way to develop a strong and productive mentoring partnership.
Menttium invited its former Menttium 100 alumni to attend a networking session and join the newest Menttium 100 class for a luncheon and keynote address by Ellen McGirt, Senior Writer for Fortune Magazine and Editor at Large for Money Magazine. This year's program launch marked Menttium's 15th anniversary and the largest number of mentoring partnerships in the Minneapolis/St. Paul market.
